Our Story

In my twenties I moved around a lot. Different places, different ways of living. Along the way I was exposed to different sides of how food is produced — spending time around both large-scale monocrop farming and more regenerative approaches to agriculture. Enough to spark something. What goes into the ground? What stays in the water? What ends up in us?

A genuine love of food came from that period. But so did a persistent curiosity about what we weren't being told.

The science on contaminants in our food and water supply is not as settled as we'd like it to be. What it does point to, consistently, is that the cumulative effect of what we consume daily — pesticide residues, heavy metals, industrial chemicals, microplastics — has consequences that are still being understood. The honest answer is that we don't know enough. And most of us aren't being given the tools to find out for ourselves.

That concern followed me into a different world entirely. Transitioning into healthcare and building my own chiropractic practice, I started noticing patterns I couldn't ignore. Health trends across patient populations, across age groups, across demographics — pointing beyond lifestyle and genetics toward something environmental. Something systemic.

That's when a question became an idea, and an idea became a need.

Lucent exists because people deserve transparency about what they put in their bodies and their environment. Not filtered through a government body, not buried in a research paper, not approximated by a postcode average. Real data. Your water. Your home. Your choice.

We're building the tools to make that possible.
